About the ABC - A Profile
The Association of Baptist Churches (ABC)
in Israel
ABC Web
Site
Started with the help of the American Southern Baptists in 1920, there are now almost 20 churches in the Association, mostly Arabic-speaking, with over 2000 Arabic believers whose aim is revival and getting the good news to everyone in Israel.
The relationship with our Associations came at time when the Southern Baptists were withdrawing support, and we are seeking to help the ABC become self -sufficient and to develop through Pastor training and Association
resourcing.
As Evangelical Christian Arabs, living in a multi-faith and multi-cultural society can be tough
- it isn't easy being very much a minority group.
In addition, Arab-Israeli citizens receive less state benefits than Jewish-Israelis.
Financial pressures are considerably greater than in the UK.
The Association of Baptist Churches is a member
of the European
Baptist Federation and the Baptist
World Alliance.
