An exciting new short course, the material has been put together by Revd Helen Wordsworth, Regional Minister/Mission Enabler, Central Baptist Association, and Revd John Smith, Area Co-ordinator, BMS World Mission, inspired by a material from a number of sources, including Alpha resources, the CBA Mission Strategy, Who’d be a Baptist, Five Core Values for a Gospel People, the Purpose Driven Church discipleship course, and Bluntisham Baptist church.

As the title suggests, it is suggested for use as an introduction for new attenders. It is hoped that it will give churches a resource to encourage membership, recognizing that people only join something when they see that they can make a difference in the world by joining. It is intended as a bridge or starter to the variety of other learning opportunities that the churches or the Association may be able to offer.

It is offered freely to all Central Baptist Association Churches in a form they can adapt and personalize for their own use. They will especially need to add their own details to sessions 3 and 4.

If it is used as a follow up to Alpha or some other Introduction to Faith course, or for people who are mature Christians, churches may wish to omit the first session and reduce the course to three weeks.

It could also be used as the framework for a Baptismal preparation course, in which case churches may wish to separate session two into two sessions and give more time for interaction on each topic.

Other churches and Associations are welcome to use this material too, but a donation to Home Mission and BMS World Mission through Central Baptist Association would be appreciated.
