DVD resources

The 2007 Assembly saw the launch of the New CBA resource DVD produced by regional minister Colin Pye.

He comments “The aim of the DVD is twofold.

Firstly it includes some short 3 – 4 minute cameos by most of the regional team commenting on some aspects of their work. I want to provide a tool that churches can  use simply to introduce folk in their church to members of the team and their work. Secondly I want to provide harassed ministers/ worship leaders with some resources they can use within services. These include:

a couple of visual meditations on particular Psalms;

a couple of songs (one about Christmas the other the Cross) with associated images;

Harvest related photo’s perhaps to play at the start of a Harvest service;

a very home made version of the Parable of the Good Samaritan for kids;

and lastly video footage of a sunset over the sea – I have used it both as a means of focus for meditation as well as a backdrop to prayer.

I’d be really interested to know if people use any of these resources, so please let me know how you get on.”

Each church needs to work out its own mission strategy and how can this be enabled by what we do together? Mission consultancy is one way.  Praying for areas where there is extensive new build happening is another.

Consultancy: A Way Forward in Mission

Many churches find themselves frustrated by their inability to move forward in mission and often the sympathetic ministry of a consultant can clear a blockage. Churches that are experiencing blessing equally can benefit from consultancy by having someone from outside to help them analyse what is going well and maybe what could go better. Consultancy is a form of fellowship in the gospel, and could become a hugely significant feature of Baptist life in the coming years. Why not put it on your church’s agenda?
