New Safeguarding Lead - March 2024

The CBA are thrilled to announce the appointment of our new Safeguarding Lead, Gillian Jones, who will be working with us and the EBA. Gillian comes to us with extensive safeguarding and church experience and we are looking forward to working together to ensure safe places for all in our CBA churches. Please do contact her on;

Safeguarding Training events coming up

All sessions offer Level 2 (9.30-12.30) and Level 3 (13.30-16.30). We publish new sessions and venues as they are organised, so do keep an eye here for updates. The cost will be £10 per delegate per level, payable by bank transfer.

Which level do I need?
Safeguarding training is a vital part of equipping all those working with children and adults at risk, as well as those who have leadership responsibility in their church.

Level 1 is a film suitable for showing in an all age service and is designed to raise awareness of safeguarding (click here)
Level 2 is a half day course focused on the basics of good safeguarding practice (most Staff and Volunteers - register via links above)
Level 3 is a half day course for those with leadership responsibilities (Ministers and Leaders - register via links above)

Welcome to the website of The Central Baptist Association. We look after about 150 Baptist churches across Northamptonshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire, including Milton Keynes. If you are looking to find a specific church near you then please click here.

Who we are

We have a team of four Regional Ministers, led by Lisa Kerry, alongside Mary Moody, Nathan Toseland and Andrew Openshaw. Andrew is also the association secretary. Our moderator is Maureen Hider and our treasurer is Roy Farrant. Jane Day is the course tutor for The Learning Collective.

What we do

We support ministers and churches by 'walking together in ministry and mission'. This includes providing pastoral care for ministers, advice to churches, guiding the settlement process, encouraging churches in their mission, providing training opportunities, encouraging networking, talking ecumenically, and offering small grants.
